I'll admit, I actually spent MLK Jr. Day wandering around Chinatown. I'm doing this wrong. It's rather inexcusable, though, that I don't make it there more often. It's only a hop, skip and an El stop away.

Admittedly, I've only eaten at two restaurants in Chinatown. Lao Sze Chuan and Lao Beijing. They're owned by the same folks. I'm sure there are a million other delicious restaurants in the hood, but Lao Sze Chuan is so flipping amazing. I can't force myself to go anywhere else.
The decor in Lao Sze Chuan is nothing to write home about, but the Ma Po Tofu and Mu Shu Pork are. Spicy and delicious.
Don't forget to pick up dessert at one of the bakeries. I can't remember from which bakery these came, but the flavors are a mix of sweet and savory. Mostly red bean.
The gift shops are fun to browse as well. I was tempted to buy a waving cat, which I just learned is called zhao cai mao (thanks, internet!). But I made out with a red dragon pouch I'm using to carry lipstick.
I just love the details everywhere.

argh. today's pm ica totally sucks to the core. i practically flunked the entire paper. to think i was so proud to tell amanda and hanting before the ica that with my juiceful sweets around, i will become smart and do well for the ica -.-
anyhow, we practised for our cs role play and i didn't know our scripts are that funny. it makes me wanna laugh, esp when im the customer bcoz i think i really sound like a horrible and difficult one. we then headed to south canteen for lunch and chatted all the way till 1pm plus.
amanda and me went to northpoint after that. it's been a long time since i last went to my fav shopping centre. haha. Best mac ssd external drive. we bought bubble tea. my ice blended cappuccino is so niceeee. very watery, i like it!
we proceeded to yishun library and it started to drizzle. i felt so bad making amanda walked in the rain. hehe. but, we talked a lot about our childhood times and it was so fun. we were in the library for a long time bcoz i was finding thanksgiving by janet evanovich. i practically searched all the shelves inside out but to no avail =(
before we went off, we went to the children's section and found out that the children nowadays don't read what we used to read in the past. we were talking about babysitters, nancy drew, goosebumps, sweet valley high etc but we only managed to find a few of such books in the children's section. then, we went on talking about our loves for goosebumps. i've always prefer goosebumps storybooks to the rest. i remembered me sitting on my bed, covering myself with my blanket while reading goosebumps, thinking that some freaking creatures will crawl out from below my bed and strangle me to death. hahaha.

then, we went back to northpoint and visited all the vcd shops and found out that all the vcds now are so bloody cheap! perhaps it's bcoz all the vcds that i wanna get are those super old and ancient type, like it started with a kiss, beachboys, long vacation, full house etc. other than it started with a kiss, all the vcds mentioned are only around 20 bucks! so cheap!! how i wish i can grab all the vcds and enjoy them during the holidays.
